    PREMINENCES WITH HELICAL STRUCTURE AND KIPPENHAHN-SCHLUTER MODEL

    Using observed data of quiescent prominences with helical structure,the current properties of the quiescent prominences are studied with (i) the magnetic field inside prominences is force-free,(ii) the basic characteristics of prominence current is described by Kippenhahn-Schlu-ter model.The results are compared with Kuperus-Raadu model.They indicate that (1) the magnetic field and current inside prominences must be force-free;(2) Kippenhahn-Schluter model without mirror current may be a better model of quiescent prominebces;(3) there are two kinds of physical reasons causing the eruption of prominences.

    Using the magnetohydrodynamic equations with complete energy equation,the dynamical response under the magnetostatic equilibrium in the solar cornna caused by the radial ejection of cold mass at the solar surface is studied numerically.The results may explain the formation of the solar prominence and the propagation of accompanying coronal disturbance.It is also show that the effects of thermal conduction and radiative loss on the fundamental property of a disturbance propagation is very small,and may be they play a role of no importance in the formation of prominence.

    EFFECTS OF TURBULENT VELOCITY FIELDS ON THE SOLAR CaII K LINE

    The effects of meso-turbulence on the solar CaII K spectral lines are studied in this paper The results show that,when the spatial resolution is improved or the correlation length of the turbulent field is increased,the observed line profiles exhibit more pronounce asymmetries.The micro-and macro-turbulence approximation can be safely used when the correlation length is less than 40 km,and it has no great influence on the model calculations.However,when the length is more than 40 km,this simple dichotomy yield some errors.An example is finally presented to certify that the computed profile can still match the observed one if only use the me-so-turbulent fields.

    During a subsorm in the magnetosphere,the aurora takes place with precipitating electrons into the polar region.At the same time a convective electric field is mapped from the magnetosphere into the ionospher of polar region.The inhomogenous thin layer of the ion convergence is produced by the action of the electric field.The Es-layer under the state of dynamic equilibrium and related it with the enhanced aurora layer is solved in this paper.In addition,the comparison between the results and the observation is also mode.

    The DFA (Drift-plute-Alfvenic),model equations describing the nonlinear phenomena of the equatorial F-layer at night are derived from plasma,two-fluid equations.A large number of dipole vortices,which can be used to explain irregularities existing in transitional and intermediate regions during ESF,are obtained from the DFA model equations.

    Nonlinear equation for atmospheric gravity waves is derived and nonlinear behavious of the waves are studied.Nonlinear ionospheric response to atmospheric gravity waves is also studied.The structures of nonlinear TIDs are presented.The nonlinear effects cause waveform distortion of TIDs.The disturted TIDs appear to be "sharp peaked" shapes and "sawtooth" shapes.The nonlinear theory of TIDs preserited in this paper can describe ionospheric irregularities and shows a good agreement with various observations on TIDs.

    PRELIMINARY APPLICATION OF FUZZY CLUSTERING IN THE FLARE-GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE ANALYSES

    The method of fuzzy clustering is used to study 210 geomagnetic disturbance events,which were caused by the flare associated interplanetary shock waves during the period of 1975-1983.Clustering centers,fuzzy equivalent relationships and clustering indices for three kinds of clusers (i.e.large,middle and small) are obtained.Main results are: (1) for 95 % of all flare-shock waves could cause the geomagnetic disturbances (∑Kp≥16);(2) success to failure ratio of the fuzzy-clustering prediction test is about 80% for the large geomagnetic disturbance events,which were caused by those flares with importance ≥2,lasting over hour and importance≥1,lasting over 2 hours and for those where a sudden velocity increase in the solar wind,exceeding 50km/s,were observed with at least 3 radio sources;and (3) for these large events,the variation range of the geomagnetic disturbances is very wide,from ∑Kp≥12 to ∑Kp≤54,showing that the geomagnetic effects associated with the flare-interplanetary shock waves are very complicated.

    RAMAN SPECTRA OF SEVEN INTERPLANETARY DUST PARTICLES

    The Raman Shift Spectra of seven interplanetary dust particles,U2034 (F10),U2034(F8),U2022(B1),W7074 18,W7074 C15,W7074 C3 and W7074 A7,were measured with a Spex-1403 Raman Spectrograph.The exciting radiations were the 488 nm and 514 nm line of a 5W argon ion laser.All seven spectra exhibit the 1350 and 1600 Acm-1 arbon bands,implying that the IDPS were coated with hydrocarbon and incompletely crystallized carbon,the part of which may be the residue of hydro-carbon contents in the particles after water loss by the heating during their entry into the earth’s atmosphere.A weak band structure in the 520-610 cm-1 range could be caused by cyclosilicates,and a weak band at 2900 cm-1 is tentatively identified as due to hydrocarbon molicules.

    The chemical compositions of the Ningqiang carbonaceous chondrite matrix and a dark rim are analysed with instrumental neutron activation method.The results indicate that there are more abundant light REE and chalcophile elements in the matrix of Ningqiang than in the whole rock sample of Ningqiang,and it roughly exhibits a similarity of REE model between the Ningqiang and Allende matrices.The difference between the dark rim and Ningqiang matrix is that the former has richer FeO and poorer refractory elements.It is deduced that the meteorite matrix and the dark rim came from different source material regions of the solar nebula.The event related to the formation of the dark rim might ever have taken place many times in the different regions of the solar nebula.

    In this paper,the quasi-periodic oscillations of solar radio burst observed on different frequencies are discussed.The period of the oscillation is about 30 seconds.Such an oscillation might be associated with Alfven waves that traverse the magnetic loop of the lower corona.
