Aicheng ZHANG is a professor at School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University, China. He got his Ph. D. degree from Nanjing University in 2005. After that, he worked as an associate researcher at Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2010, he became a professor in mineralogy and planetary science at Nanjing University. He was a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Hokkaido University from 2011 to 2013. Zhang focuses on two aspects of planetary sciences: the formation and temporal-spatial evolution of solid materials in the solar nebula; and geological processes on the Moon, Mars, and asteroids through the mineralogical and geochemical features of meteorites and mission-returned samples. He is experienced in the application of in-situ mineralogical and geochemical analytical techniques to planetary materials, including scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, electron microprobe analyzer, electron backscatter diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and secondary ion mass microscopy.
