The geomagnetic indias, such as the ring current inflation rate, the aurora electrojet indices AU AL and the mid-latitude geomagnetic index ASY-H and the geomagnetic H-and Z-componen, the ionospheric data f

2 and h'F observed in China, are used for analysing the evolution of disturbed ionospheric current and electric field during a typical storm. It is shown that the geomagnetic indices and observed parameters can reflect the main features of the magnetosphere -ionosphere coupling.
