Abstract:
The cosmic ray composition monitor on the board the Chinese Satellite, Fengyun-l(B), launched in September 1990, had detected the geomagnetically trapped particles (mainly protons, a particles, ions of Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen and Iron) for as long as more than 100 days. Both stationary and solar proton perturbed fluxes of the geomagnetically trapped protons have been recorded. This paper reports the results of 4-23 MeVprotons obtained from 19th to 24th November 1990, a relatively quiet period of the geomagnetic field. The perpendicular flux distribution of the protos in the L-Bspace are obtained and studied. This paper also presents the perpendicular flux distributions of protons on a particular geographical meridian plane (100°E). The results are agreeable with the Radiation Belt theory.
